The accelerated program are intended for those who already hold a baccalaureate degree in a field other than nursing. The program is full-time and takes 3.5 consecutive semesters to complete.

UNF Accelerated BSN Prerequisite Requirements

All of the following courses are required to be completed prior to start the nursing program. Applicants must also hold a baccalaureate degree as well.

  • Social Science
  • Developmental Psychology
  • Statistics
  • Human Nutrition
  • Microbiology with lab
  • Anatomy and Physiology 1 with lab
  • Anatomy and Physiology 2 with lab
  • Chemistry or other sciences

A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is required. A minimum GPA of 2.90 is required in the nursing prerequisite courses.  Meeting the minimum GPA will not be sufficient for gaining admission – it is only the minimum for submitting an application.

One unusual feature of the UNF admissions process is that they will give credit to repeated courses even when a grade of C or higher has been achieved. The higher grade will be used to determine the GPA.

TEAS V Requirement for UNF Accelerated BSN Program

The TEAS V (TEAS 3 or 4 is NOT acceptable) is required to be completed by the application deadline of January 15th.

There is a wait list of 20 to 30 alternates who will be contacted in rank order should an admitted student decline his offer.

Points System for UNF Accelerated School of Nursing and Admissions Stats

Take your GPA and multiply by 100. Then take each individual part of the TEAS score and add that to the total. The maximum is 800. For summer 2010, the cutoff for interviews was 680. This number changes every year. Because the TEAS V is now required, the cutoff may be a little lower for 2011 and later.
