Requirements and Prerequisites for Admission to Keiser University’s ADN Nursing Program
You need to complete the following in order to get admitted to the ADN program:
- Pass a pre-entrance test called the Wonderlic. If you have an ACT score of 17 or a SAT score of 400, you can skip this test. This test is pretty easy to pass without studying.
- Pass the TEAS exam with a minimum score of 89 in reading, 65 in math, 63 in science, 78 in English. Most students will need to get the study the official ATI TEAS guide in order to pass.
- Interview with the program director.
After the interview, your file will go to an admissions committee. You will receive an admissions decision within 2-3 weeks. If you have not taken the nursing program prerequisites of anatomy and physiology and microbiology, you can take those classes at Keiser University. It is not necessary to complete the prerequisite courses beforehand.
Tuition of Keiser University
The cost is not by credit. The tuition is $7,000 per semester which is 4 months long. The nursing program itself is 16 months long not counting GE and prerequisites. It will take four consecutive semesters to complete. You can greatly decrease your cost of education by completing general education requirements and science prerequisite courses at a local community college prior to enrollment at Keiser. Nevertheless, the option to start without completing any college courses is available as well.
In short, all you need to do to get admitted to Keiser’s nursing program is to pass two nursing school entrance exams and undergo an interview. Keiser University is a good option if you don’t want to wait any longer at the many Florida nursing schools that have waiting lists.
